it just posted my brief piece and (my sister, Andrea Costa’s) video of my father, Architect Tad Leski–telling the story of the accident inspired design of the Chandeliers for the Metropolitan Opera House. His sketch (shown here) of the design is a perfect bridge between the paint splat and the chandelier that was fabricated by Lobmyer.
